Pearl status: what is live, announced, and still unverified
The software is moving. The decisive adoption metric remains the verified share of work serving real AI demand.
The verified snapshot
- Pearl mainnet is live and the public monorepo remains active.
- The latest listed core release is v1.4.1, published August 11, 2026.
- The latest listed desktop wallet is v2.0.5, also published August 11.
- Together AI announced a Pearl-powered inference endpoint in May.
- Pearl Research Labs labeled its own Inference Platform and Mining Pool products as “Soon” at the time.
What changed since the previous release cycle
August brought a rank-penalty soft fork, a testnet scheduling fix and the salted noise-seed hard fork. The release pace shows active protocol work, but release volume shouldn’t be confused with user demand or useful-compute volume.
For operators, the practical point is simple: don’t run old node or wallet binaries without checking the current release notes and upgrade requirements.
The number that is still missing
No block explorer, coin price or total-work figure answers Pearl’s central question. The defining metric is the independently verifiable share of network work attached to genuine training or inference.
Until that is measured consistently, “proof of useful work” describes protocol capability more safely than it describes all observed mining.
