Pearl releases v1.4.1 and Wallet v2.0.5 for the salted noise-seed hard fork
Upgrade coordination matters more than the version number: nodes, wallets, miners and pools must agree on the active rules.
What shipped
Pearl Research Labs published core release v1.4.1 under the title “Salted Noise-seed hardfork”. The same day it published Pearl Desktop Wallet v2.0.5, with installers for Windows, macOS and Linux plus command-line programs.
The fork activated at block 99,000 on August 11, 2026, at 12:03 UTC. From that block, every certificate had to be V3: each commitment is first salted with a keyed BLAKE3 hash. Unlike June’s MoE fork, miners had to upgrade too; old miners produced invalid work from that height.
What users should do
- Use the official release page rather than a copied download link.
- Match the installer to your operating system and processor.
- Back up the wallet seed before changing software.
- Confirm miners, pools and nodes all support the same network rules.
- Test a small send and receive after syncing.
What the release note doesn’t establish
A hard-fork title identifies a consensus change, not its full effect on every third-party miner or pool. Operators should follow the linked changelog and the support channels of any software outside the official repository.
